I leave the house on another very early flight and not much sleep but feeling good everything is in order. A shoe guy was available near the first class lounge. Breezing through security, I stopped for a shine and fun baseball and fishing conversation with the pleasant attendant. The first class lounge for some breakfast was open and provided a small breakfast.
The lack of sleep is beginning to affect me as the plane lands in Miami. No problem with the connection except the long walk......
Panama City and mixture of skyscrapers and old buildings. The drive from the airport was wonderful as there are a number of creative architectural building to feast your eyes on. Upon arriving at the Hotel, Country In and Suites and showed a beautiful, large suite overlooking the canal I settle in to unpack.
I head downstairs to secure some tours for the next two days. I pick a half day Panama Canal tour on the water for $150. It sounds steep but we will see if it is worth it. Next up, I talk with the front desk person and secure a drive and guide for Thursday at $20 per hour which is reasonable. First off, I needed him to take me to an ATM and a store to pick up some water and snacks.
The evening has me spending some time at the hotel restaurant which is a TGI Friday's. I did have a decent shrimp, chicken and rice dish. I took a nice walk along the water and found some nice kitties along the way. The evening closed with me relaxing in the room. A nice day!
The view from the room.....
